School of Music Opera Series | With its scintillating libretto, infectious score, and stunning arias, The Marriage of Figaro rightfully deserves its place at the forefront of operatic history. Premiered in 1786, it remains a timeless endorsement of common sense and forgiveness. In the midst of a class struggle, servants outwit aristocrats and women outdo men in Mozart’s witty upending of social conventions. In typical operatic fashion, several cases of mistaken identity are resolved, humiliation teaches the offenders, and good humor restores order.

Sung in Italian with English supertitles
