13th Annual Martirano Award Concert

The 13th Annual Martirano Award Concert will feature four works performed by the UI New Music Ensemble under the direction of Erik Lund, and the JACK Quartet will perform Martirano’s String Quartet. The winning works that will be performed are Tear of the Clouds for chamber ensemble and electronics by Yale faculty member Michael Klingbeil; Variations on an Impulse for chamber ensemble by Vladimir Rannev (Saint Petersburg, Russia); Of Consonance and Contention… for three cellos by Geoff Knorr (Baltimore, Maryland); and Walking Down the Hillside at Cortona and Seeing Its Tower Rise before Me for two pianos tuned to 19-tone equal temperament by Christopher Bailey (Jamaica Plain, Massachusetts).

After the concert, stay for the Afterglow with the Boneyard Jazz Quintet on Stage 5.
