Bebe Miller: Tracing History

Thursday, February 7, 2013, 11:30am-1:30pm and 4pm-8pm; Friday, February 8, 2013, 11:30am-1:30pm and 4pm to after the performance | Tryon Festival Theatre Foyer

This installation includes video by Maya Ciarrocchi with mounted artist comments and an iPad-based gallery guide. Augmenting the production of A History by the Bebe Miller Company on February 8, the materials reveal the process behind dance making and pose the question “what if?”

The gallery guide can be downloaded from the Wexner Center for the Arts at Ohio State University.

A History was commissioned by the Wexner Center for the Arts at Ohio State University through its Wexner Center Residency Award program and Krannert Center. A History was developed with support from Wesleyan University’s Institute for Curatorial Practice in Performance.

The creation of A History was made possible with support from Ohio State University’s College of Arts and Humanities Grants for Research and Creative Activity and the Department of Dance, as well as by the Jerome Lawrence and Robert E. Lee Theatre Research Institute and the Department of Women’s Studies and their Coca-Cola Critical Difference for Women grant program; by The Forsythe Company’s Motion Bank: TWO Project by Maria Palazzi and Norah Zuniga-Shaw, the Advanced Computing Center for Arts and Design at Ohio State University; by the New England Foundation for the Arts’ National Dance Project, with lead funding from the Doris Duke Charitable Foundation and additional funding from The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, the MetLife Foundation, and the National Endowment for the Arts; and by the United States Artists’ USA Projects donation program. The Bebe Miller Company and A History are supported by the National Endowment for the Arts.
